Veronique Wirbel was a French artist born in 1950 and died in 1990.
Her universe was a Wonderland. Hers, as Lewis Caroll’s, contains all kinds of strange characters and hybrid creatures. Unlike Alice, the fabulous world through which Veronique carries us in her magnificent artworks is not the centre of the earth, but the centre of herself, where her mature fantasies and inhibitions are rooted with the memories and dreams of childhood.
